Exemption for Amateur Radio Mobile Operation in Ontario Canada
Highway Traffic Act -O. Reg. 366/09
Section 13.
(1) Until January 1, 2013, drivers who hold a valid radio operator certificate issued under the Radiocommunication Act (Canada) may drive a motor vehicle on a highway while holding or using a two-way radio.
(2) This section is revoked on January 1, 2013.

FUNcube frequencies announced
The AMSAT-UK FUNcube CubeSat project is intended for launch into a Low Earth Orbit (LEO).
It is designed to carry a 70cm to 2m linear transponder for SSB/CW communications along with a beacon carrying telemetry and data for educational demonstrations from space.
It is expected to be completed by Autumn 2010.
In addition to the satellite, the project includes the development of simple receivers and display software for use at schools.
A submission for frequencies was made to the IARU Amateur Satellite Frequency Coordination panel who have announced these coordinated frequencies for FUNcube.
Inverting linear transponder:
Uplink 435.080 – 435.060 MHz
Downlink 145.960 – 145.980 MHz
Beacon: 145.955 MHz CW and BPSK

AMSAT's OSCAR Number Coordinator Bill Tynan, W3XO announced he has
received an e-mail sent to the AMSAT-NA Board of Directors by Hans
van de Groenendaal, ZS6AKV, Secretary SA AMSAT requesting that an
OSCAR number be allocated to SumbandilaSat.
In the e-mail Hans states that the amateur radio transponder on
SumbandilaSat was successfully switched on from the ground by ZS6BPZ
during the test phase on Sunday 18 October 2009 and that several QSOs
were made through the transponder.
The amateur radio payload on SumbandilaSat was developed by SA AMSAT
and incorporated by the University of Stellenbosch into the main pay-
load. The SA AMSAT payload was officially coordinated through the
IARU Satellite Frequency Coordination Panel with an uplink of 145.880
and downlink of 435.350 MHz

Test Schedule is suspended
The Sumbandila Satellite Operations at SunSpace in South Africa said this week that Amateur Radio Operations via SO-67 must be suspended temporarily due to system commissioning requirements of the main payload.
The message said after handover of operations of the commissioned payloads the Satellite Applications Center plans return SO-67 back to scheduled Amateur Radio operation in the middle-March to early-April, 2010 timeframe.
